Straight Advice
Repair or replace?
Storage hot water systems don't last forever - most give eight to twelve years of service before elements, thermostats or the tank itself start to go. A failed element or valve on a younger unit is well worth repairing.
But when the tank itself is leaking, or the unit is a decade old and on its second or third repair, replacement is almost always the better spend. That's also the moment to consider an instantaneous unit - endless hot water, no tank to fail, and space back in your yard or cupboard.

Common questions
How quickly can you replace a hot water system?
A household without hot water is treated as urgent. In most cases we can supply and install a replacement the same or next day, depending on the unit and gas or electrical requirements.
Gas, electric or instantaneous - which should I get?
It depends on your existing connections, household size and space. As a rule of thumb: like-for-like replacement is fastest, and instantaneous (continuous flow) suits households that keep running out of hot water. We'll size it properly rather than guess.
Do you supply the unit or do I buy it myself?
We supply quality units through Reece Plumbing with full manufacturer warranty, which also means one point of responsibility for the whole job. If you've already purchased a unit, we can install that too.
Can my existing system be repaired instead?
Often, yes - elements, thermostats and valves are all replaceable. If the tank itself is leaking, repair isn't viable and we'll say so straight away rather than patch something that's about to fail.
Do I get a compliance certificate?
Yes. Every installation is completed by a licensed plumber (Reg #128038) and certified - which matters for insurance, rentals and resale.
Why does my hot water run out so quickly?
Either a failing element or thermostat, sediment build-up in the tank, or a unit that's undersized for your household. A quick inspection tells us which - and each has a different, honest fix.
